Military Equal Opportunity (MEO)
The primary objective of the MEO Program is to improve mission effectiveness by promoting an environment free from personal, social, or institutional barriers that prevent military members from rising to the highest level of responsibility possible based on their individual merit, fitness, and capability. DTRA’s policy is to conduct its affairs free from unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment. The MEO program seeks to eliminate unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment against military members, family members, and retirees based on race, color, sex, national origin, or religion.
This type of discrimination is based on race, color, national origin, religion, or sex that is not otherwise authorized by statute or policy. Unlawful discrimination degrades human beings, negatively impacts the mission.
All military members who believe they have been a victim of discrimination are strongly encouraged to immediately disclose the incidents to their chain of command. All unresolved complaints should be reported to the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Programs Office. Also, we encourage every military member to consider Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) procedures for conflict resolution with an EO personnel, if warranted. All formal complaints will be promptly and thoroughly investigated and appropriate action will be taken for those situations that are validated.
