High-level Briefing about DTRA

Our DTRA Recruiters travel within the United States and Europe to seek out the finest enlisted service members proficient in the Russian language. The DTRA Recruiters deliver comprehensive briefings on DTRA, our mission, and the array of Treaties we support, all aimed at prospective candidates. We carry out over 500 interviews annually with enlisted service members aspiring to join our professional team.

Preliminary Screenings

At each recruiting location, we initiate preliminary screenings and follow up with in-depth interviews to identify the most qualified Russian-speaking candidates. Those who don’t meet our standards receive constructive feedback and are encouraged to reapply. In many cases, a second attempt sees candidates perform exceptionally well, paving their way to enrolling in the DTRA Interpreter Program (DIP) at the prestigious Defense Language Institute (DLI) in Monterey, California.
