Officials here are developing an autonomous robotic system that identifies and maps chemical or biological warfare agent (CWA/BWA) contamination on vehicle surfaces, then decontaminates the surfaces, and clears that vehicle for unrestricted use by the Joint Force.

DTRA Members attend International Forum on Public Health Emergency Operations Center in Cameroon

Members of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and over 350 health experts from Cameroon and around the world attended the fourth annual International Forum on Public Health Emergency Operations Center in Yaoundé, Cameroon Nov. 9-11. The forum focused on lessons-learned from the Covid-19 pandemic and strengthening public health emergency management systems and surveillance.

DTRA hosts CWMD Course in Thailand

Recently, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) hosted an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Course in Bangkok, Thailand at the Royal Thai Armed Force’s Counter Terrorism Operations Center (CTOC) headquarters complex. This course continues a successful series of events between the U.S. and Thailand to further protect the Southeast Asian region from WMD incidents.

DTRA Partnered with Government of Kosovo to Train and Equip Kosovo Security Forces

Members from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), in continued support to U.S. European Command (EUCOM), and the Government of Kosovo conducted a Capstone Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Training Event to train and equip Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) personnel to effectively respond to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) incidents.

DTRA’s Building Partnerships Director recently traveled to Oregon and Utah to meet with The Adjutant Generals of the Oregon and Utah National Guard. The purpose of this trip was to build on DTRA’s relationships with the Oregon National Guard (ORNG) and Utah National Guard (UTNG).
